We Men Celebrating Women’s Day – Post dedicated to Women, For an initiative by Chennai Bloggers Club.

Gone are the days where women were CONSIDERED as the weaker section of the society. They are CONSIDERED as weaker, but they are not so. Many people in the present generation have realized the truth that there should be no gender discrimination and both men and women were on par.
But the Incidents like the one happened in Delhi, have raised question on the women safety. But my envision for the women in Chennai would be “HQ – Health Quotient”.
Based on the Medical records and Real life incidents, it is evident that Women are more prone to diseases when compared with Men.  It is said that, certain diseases like Auto Immune Diseases, the risk even starts even from their child bearing days. Auto Immune Diseases are among the leading causes of death and disability in girls and women in the age 65 or younger. Some of the Auto Immune diseases (Don’t get scared by seeing new names, will post the reason for quoting these terms at the end of my post) : 

  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
  • Graves' disease
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Myasthenia gravis
  • Systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus)
  • Rheumatoid arthritis

Another Disease which affects women more than men is “OSTEOPOROSIS”.
There are many such diseases  which affects women. Many reasons have been cited for this.
The reason why I am posting about these diseases is not to scare you all, but to emphasize one thing. The main reason for all these diseases according to me, is the lack of AWARENESS. When we people know about AIDS, CANCER etc as deadly disease, why don’t we create awareness for these diseases too which targets women ??
All these are my own view points based on the reference cited at the end, and may not be correct in some aspect. Anyways, make a slogan for this Women’s day as “Healthy Tomorrow”…..

The Most Important Woman in Life :

Right from my Grandma, mom, sister, friends , well wishers – all are important for me. Its difficult to figure out one. But if I have to choose one, I ll choose my Grandma.
Have learnt a lot from my Grandma right from Politeness, Gratitude, Optimism, Punctuality, Decision-Making etc etc… The Values which we inherited from them is the most valuable possession one can get .

I have not come across anyone writing about women's health today. Of course there are many women groups which speak about awareness in health but from a man's perspective, not many. So, a thumbs up for your post.

Second, while a lot of space is given to speaking, writing and creating awareness about safety spaces, there is a dearth of info on health awareness.

Thanks for this post. It would've been wonderful if you also gave a line or two describing the diseases.
